When you take in consideration a proper software firm for a medium sized company, Infor seems to be the most appropriate option. It is the third largest such provider in the world, successfully providing services in over 120 countries under the leadership of Charles Phillips, one of the role models of the modern society. Phillips started in the US Marine Corps and had nothing to do with his current career. He did obtain a Master’s degree in business administration years ago, but his career was far from it. He then involved with the Wall Street to end up running some of the largest companies in the world. His fame came with the president status at Oracle, where he stayed for 6 years and increased the success of the company with more than 300%, not to mention about turning it into a more customer orientated business. In September, 2010, he quit the job and after a few more weeks, he got to Infor.

Charles Phillips was directly appointed as a CEO (Chief Executive Officer). He was also included in the board of directors. He didn’t have to go through any promotions or anything alike, mostly because of his two decades of experience on similar positions, especially in the software world. But what convinced Phillips to take the position? According to his statement soon after he got the job, he agreed that Infor successfully managed to get where it is today with work and dedication only and without getting too much in the press or any scandals. It was a quiet and very successful path the company took. These days, Infor provides software technologies for more than 70K customers all over the world. And according to Phillips, it is only the beginning. He placed a big bet on the beginning of 2012, when a new platform is about to come out on the market.

Charles Phillips took the job with all his heart, proud to be leading around 8000 employees and even prouder to take Infor through the upcoming growth and improvement stage. The CEO position was held by Jim Schaper, who was also a chairman. Although he lost the CEO position, he still plays a very important role in the futuristic programs of Infor as a chairman. He agrees that Charles Phillips is an impressive visionary in the software industry and is confident that the 51 years old businessman can leave a positive mark on Infor.
